How to Use Blush

To help you get started, Jules shared her professional advice on how to get the most out of Blush from start to finish, as well as some unique creative techniques.

1. First things first

It’s crucial to decide what you’re going to use your illustration for before you start personalising it. Here’s the deal: “Is it for a welcome screen? Is there an app for that? Or perhaps a presentation for your boss? Always be aware of what you’re doing with the doodle!”

This will save you a lot of time when choosing illustrations from the library and will give you a better idea of the final product.

2. Choose a style for your project

Now that you’ve decided on the project kind, it’s time to pick an illustration style. You may find links to all of the collections under the illustrations page, or you can choose doodles from the categories area.

Next, browse our doodle library for a collection that matches the style, tone, and mood of your project.

3. Start Customizing your Doodle

With your style and illustrations selected, you can begin to mix and match your doodles! One of the coolest parts about playing around with Blush is that nearly every part of each illustration is customizable.

For example, you can edit things like a character’s hair, facial expressions, clothing, and even change things like their posture and position.

You may personalise more than only the characters!

You can also design your own scenes with an infinite number of objects, characters, and shapes. The possibilities are literally limitless!

4. Can’t think of a what to make? Shuffle it!

“Shuffle it!” if you’re having problems personalising your work or coming up with the right doodle.

Don’t worry if you get stuck; Jules understands that we all need a little help from time to time when it comes to selecting the ideal illustrations. You may always press the “shuffle” 🔀️  button and Blush will generate a unique doodle for you to use and customise.

5. Keep it on brand with the color filters

Color filters are another fun option to experiment with. Here’s what Jules had to say about changing your colours: “When it comes to things like staying on brand, the colour filters feature comes in handy. Customize your graphics with any colour combination to make your projects even more customised.”

It’s also quite simple to use the colour pallet tool! Simply click the filters tab while in edit mode, select the colour combinations you want, edit the effects, and you’re done! For your illustrations, you’ve chosen special colours.

6. Use your doodles on Figma or Sketch

Blush’s aim includes assisting creators in speeding up their workflow without sacrificing quality. You may alter and play with your illustrations directly on the canvas using the Figma and Sketch plugins.

The ability to create the perfect graphic immediately within your projects will save time that would otherwise be spent on time-consuming tasks. Jules explains it thus way: “The plugins are a fantastic addition, particularly for workflow. You won’t have to download, upload, or rearrange anything on your canvas. You can change everything right on the canvas, which is quite convenient for my workflow.”

The download process is straightforward, and putting your creations together in their final form becomes a lot easier (sometimes just a few clicks).
